Tournée Minérale, what is it?
Tournée Minérale, which takes place every year in February, is a sobriety challenge designed to encourage everyone to go without alcohol for an entire month. The month gives participants an opportunity to reflect on their drinking habits and explore alcohol-free alternatives.
Whether it's to support a cause, improve your health, or just take on a personal challenge, the Tournée Minérale lets you discover delicious alternatives to alcoholic drinks, with sophisticated and refreshing mocktails.
If you may be dependent on alcohol, get medical advice before starting an alcohol-free challenge. Stopping suddenly can be dangerous. See NHS guidance on alcohol-use disorder.
A little history
The Tournée Minérale was started in Belgium in 2017 by the Foundation Against Cancer and De DrugLijn, to raise awareness about the effects of alcohol on health and encourage everyone to think about their consumption. Inspired by other movements like Dry January, it quickly became a hit, with thousands of participants in its very first edition.
In addition to its impact on health, the event has a charitable side, with donations collected in support of the fight against cancer. Since then, every year, more and more people take on the challenge, for health reasons, wellbeing, or to support a cause. It's also a chance to discover creative non-alcoholic drinks and to integrate new, healthier habits into everyday life.
